For reasons of privacy and psychological safety we assess participants coming from the same company or from competing organizations / industries individually. If we spot any risk or potential conflict of interest, we discuss it with the participants before enrolling you into our cohort.
In April 2010 I was in a dark corner myself and I didn’t even know it.
I was the deputy editor in chief of Czech Business Weekly (CBW), the only English language economic magazine in the Czech Republic.
Originally from Romania, I had started to work for the CBW in Prague in 2005. In five years I grew from an external freelancer to reporter, specialized reporter in financial markets, chief reporter and, ultimately, deputy editor in chief.
What could go wrong, right?
Well, in April 2010 we were in the midst of a global economic crisis. A year before, our advertising revenues had decreased by 70%. We were on the brink of bankruptcy.
So our management decided to shut us down.
What’s “better,” they made the decision on Monday evening, told us about it on Tuesday morning and laid us off on Friday afternoon.
For our kindness of heart, we got one month severance pay.
With insufficient language skills to find a job in the Czech media and in the midst of a global economic crisis, we had to reinvent our careers overnight.
I decided to become an entrepreneur.
My first step was to go to my tae-bo trainer (I was in a much better shape back then), I asked him to lend me 10 000 EUR and I founded my own company in Prague.
Since then I have been helping good people to communicate and lead better.
My favorite type of work is when I can support amazing women from our region to communicate, lead and grow into their whole career and human potential.
Because of my personal experience I know exactly how it feels to be trapped in your career.

I am also the Chief Mentor of Femme Palette, a global female empowerment organization, and the author of You, the Brand – Personal Branding for Career Growth, a book that I wrote in Czech, my fourth language, in 2018.
